Well, it just about put me to sleep. I'm having my period, and get really bad cramps, especially since having an IUD put in. This surprisingly did help, I even felt the nausea go away, and I felt so relaxed, I almost drifted to sleep.L.M.
This took my cramps from stabbing pain to dull ache in 2 minutes!Lindsey M.
It REALLY helped a lot! I really wasn’t expecting that.Rachael B.

The science behind it all

Through 20 years of research at Brown University and backed by grants including NASA, The National Institute of Health, and the National Science Foundation, we discovered...

Sopite induction

For a deep sense of peace and drowsiness

You know how children always fall asleep in the car? It's called sopite syndrome, a mild form of motion sickness that causes drowsiness. We can do this on demand, thanks in part to our grant from NASA.

Hemispherical entrainment

To help reduce anxious feelings about pain

For most people, pain can cause anxiety. Hemispherical Entrainment, sometimes called the ‘Flicker-response’ (think of staring at a flickering campfire), is one of the counters and can help induce a trance, sleep, and/or relaxation.

Pain distractors

To change your focus off the pain

Pain is meant to have you focus on the pain (so you can fix it). We use pain distractors to help you focus on something else to reduce the intensity of your perception of pain.

Hippocampus disruption

Helps you forget that you were in pain

The hippocampus' role in your brain is to produce long term memories. But it can play a role in locking in chronic pain. Selective disruption can reduce long term perception of pain.

It's UAH-MAZING new technology.Dr. Katie V.
I started to notice feelings of weightlessness that were really cool. I can honestly see this preventing my panic attacks if I listen to it when I feel one coming on. Very cool stuff!Valerie C.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is this a placebo?

No. These therapies have been tested in randomized, double-blind studies using a control of our music without the neuroscience components. Let's just say the therapy version absolutely shattered any doubt that the music-only version would be similar. HOWEVER, we have noticed an anti-effect where strong resistance to it will nullify the effects. We believe this is caused by the frontal cortex outright rejecting the influence of our therapies... which is good, because it means that it's nearly impossible to weaponize sounds (as Dr. Horowitz mentions in his book.)

  • How can it possibly block pain?

We can't block the actual neuronal impulse that your brain processes as pain. Instead we opt to work on the focus components (pulling your mind off the pain) and emotional components (feeling anxious/ruminating on the pain). The result is many people perceive less pain while listening and often after listening as well.

  • What if I don’t like it?

You can get your money back within half a year (180 days). You may want to try a demo, first, to make sure you like it.

  • How is this different from peaceful/relaxing music?

If you're like us, you know what music makes you calm and may have created a playlist to match. Unlike a playlist of peaceful music, though, Zenstant delivers tested and targeted neuroscience wrapped in music - kind of how Advil is medicine wrapped in a candy coating.
